'Cotswold Completes Replica Refurbishment for the University of Wales'

March 2003

Modern high performance steel windows have been supplied and installed by Cotswold Casements Ltd to provide the closest possible match to those existing within the elevations of a Grade I listed building at the University of Wales, Cardiff.

The Project Manager for the University of Wales's Estates Division, Mr Robert Adlam, comments: "Our Main Building dates from 1906 and 1926. The heavily corroded condition of the old steel windows prompted us to begin a programme of replacement. Cotswold Casements who won the original contract back in the early Nineties supplied hundreds of galvanised and polyester powder coated windows from W20 sections. The level of service we have received has been very good and they have managed to match the appearance of the originals as is required by the Grade I listing."

Several phases of the work also called on the company to produce circular and other more complex configurations of windows, some of which were removed and copied at their factory.
