Pictured - non-projecting hinge

Projecting hinges allow the outside face of the glass to be cleaned safely from inside. Projecting hinges also have a friction action eliminating the necessity for peg stays.

Non-Projecting Hinges - This type of hinge has a minimal projection whilst still retaining the friction action eliminating the requirement of peg stays.

543B Hinges - Smallest of the hinges available for steel windows, these replicate the hinges used on very early designs of steel windows. Peg stays would be required on windows with this hinge.
